Vanessa Kirby on Shia LaBeouf's abuse allegations: "I stand with all survivors of abuse"

His Pieces of a Woman's costar opens up after singer FKA twigs filed a lawsuit against the actor for sexual aggression and assault. 

With a few words, actress Vanessa Kirby has shown her support for survivors of abuse after her co-star in the upcoming movie Pieces of Woman, Shia LaBeouf, is facing abuse allegations.

"I stand with all survivors of abuse and respect the courage of anyone who tells the truth", she stated in an interview with The Sunday Times. "In light of recent news, I cannot comment on an ongoing legal case", she added.

LaBeouf, who stars in the independent drama movie that will air January 7, is facing a lawsuit filed by his ex girlfriend singer FKA Twigs for abuse, which includes sexual assault, aggression and infliction of emotional distress.

In an email sent to The New York Times, which broke the story, LaBeouf said that he is "not in the position to tell anyone how [his] behavior made them feel. He also added that he has "no excuses for [his] alcoholism or aggression."

In that same email he also admitted that he has been "abusive to [himself] and everyone around [him] for years."
