The streaming service wants to expand its service and include more films, shows, and characters on its platform. Amazon paid $8.45 billion for MGM, including cable channel Epix.
The iconic Hollywood studio has more than 4,000 films in its library, including classics like Silence of the Lambs and Thelma & Louise. Recently, MGM's new acquisitions include TV realities Shark Tank and The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. It also includes James Bond's new film No Time to Die and Aretha Franklin's biopic, Respect.
Up to now, MGM hasn't released any statement.
