Prince Philip is released from hospital

The Queens husband is finally back at the palace

Prince Philip was released on Tuesday after being treated at the hospital during 4 weeks due to an infection. The 99 year old husband of the monarch is said to be in good spirits and getting well at Buckingham Palace.

According to People magazine, Philip was seen leaving King Edward VII hospital in London on Tuesday. He was initially admitted on Feb. 16 to undergo a few days of observation and rest after "feeling unwell" and being "treated for an infection." This was the prince's longest ever hospital stay.

Trough a statement Buckingham Palace confirmed the news and said that the Prince wanted to thank all the doctors that had been taking care of his health during his stay at the hospital for over a month:

"His Royal Highness wishes to thank all the medical staff who looked after him at both King Edward VII's Hospital and St Bartholomew's Hospital, and everyone who has sent their good wishes."
