The statement comes after a Buckingham Palace source said that the Queen didn't know about the name the couple had chosen for their baby girl.
Prince Harry & Meghan Markle are living their best family time! The couple welcomed their second child, a baby girl named after Queen Elizabeth and Princess Diana: Lilibet Diana Mountbatten-Windsor.
According to Harry & Meghan's spokesperson, the Queen already knew about the chosen name for their baby. "The Duke spoke with his family in advance of the announcement, in fact, his grandmother was the first family member he called."
"During that conversation, he shared their hope of naming their daughter Lilibet in her honor. Had she not been supportive, they would not have used the name," the statement concluded.
The name Lilibet was used by Queen Elizabeth's father King George VI as a loving way of calling his daughter. "Lilibet is my pride. Margaret is my joy," he once said.
