The miniseries chronicling New York's survival from the 9/11 attack to the COVID-19 pandemic will also be available on HBO Mundi
20 years after the September 11 attack in New York, arrives to HBO Max NYC EPICENTERS 9/11 → 2021½, a documentary that seeks to expose to the world the events that have occurred since the attack on the Twin Towers and that have marked history from New York.
This title was produced and directed by the acclaimed Oscar-winning director, Spike Lee, who during 4 intense chapters, shares testimonies and stories from those who have witnessed the challenges experienced by the inhabitants of ¨The Big Apple¨.
The documentary can also be seen on the pay TV channel HBO Mundi. The chronicle is narrated in reverse, beginning with the pandemic that we as a society go through, the Black Lives Matter movement, until finally reaching the attacks of September 11.
To achieve a truthful and transparent account, Lee had to conduct nearly 200 interviews with all types of New Yorkers: politicians, journalists, first responders, doctors, engineers, architects, journalists and even his own family, all present at the events on display.
Additionally, the production collects an enormous amount of valuable images and videos that complement the narration.
It should be noted that Lee's hometown is New York and he himself has classified it as "the greatest city in the land of this God."
‘NYC EPICENTERS 9/11 → 2021½’ was directed by Spike Lee and features Adam Gough and Barry Alexander Brown in editing; Jason Sokoloff in the co-production, Felipe Vara De Rey and Kerwin Devonish in the direction of photography; Terence Blanchard as author of the original music; Judy Aley in the role of file editor.
