The singer released her last album in 2017.
Lorde is making her highly anticipated return to the stage!
On Tuesday, Barcelona's annual music festival Primavera Sound announced the event's 2022 line-up via Twitter. Lorde's name was among the artists that are set to perform, alongside Meghan Thee Stallion, Dua Lipa and many more.
The festival's official website also revealed that the 24-year-old singer "will emerge from her retirement after her unforgettable visit in 2018" and take the stage.
Lorde —whose real name is Ella Marija Lani Yelich-O'Connor— dropped her last album, the critically acclaimed Melodrama, in 2017 and has since released very little information about the awaited follow-up. However, she did reveal in May 2020 that she started working on new material with Jack Antonoff.
Last year, the songstress also opened up about why she stepped away from social media and the public eye.
"Part of what made me peace out on social media, apart from feeling like I was losing my free will, was the massive amounts of stress I was feeling about our planet, about systemic racism, and about police brutality in this country", she told Cazzie David during a feature with Interview magazine at the time.
