Lil Nas X turned down a role in THIS popular series!

The rapper said he stepped down to focus on his music career.

Lil Nas X almost became an actor! The 22-year-old rapper revealed that he was offered a role in one of the most popular shows in recent history, but ultimately turned it down to focus on his music career.

In his cover story for Variety's Power of Young Hollywood Issue, Lil Nas shared that he turned a high-profile acting gig in Euphoria because he didn't feel he was quite ready yet — though he does want to get into acting sometime in the future.

"I was actually going to do Euphoria, but I didn’t want to take time away from finishing my album", he said of the HBO drama. "I definitely want to get into acting, but I feel I have to give it my all, and I want to focus on music for right now. I want my first movie to be amazing."

During the interview, Lil Nas also spoke about how the ongoing coronavirus pandemic helped him be more comfortable in who he is.

"Honestly, I believe the pandemic helped me get out of the idea of trying to please everybody, and the idea of ‘He’s a cool gay person; he’s an acceptable gay person", he explained. "I used to see things like that as a compliment, but it’s not. It just means you’re a people pleaser, and they never become legends."

"I wanted to be even more authentic in my music and let people into my life. I’m much more confident now — in my music, myself, my sexuality, the things that I believe that I stand for", he added.

In case you missed it, the Grammy winner recently reflected on his iconic BET Awards performance.
