The film is set to be released in 2022.
Even superheroes get makeovers! On Sunday, Jason Momoa — who plays Aquaman in the big screen — took to social media to reveal the flashy new outfit for his DC character's upcoming film, Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom.
The first photo showed Aquaman's classic green-and-gold ensemble, which Momoa wore for the franchise's first installment in 2018. A second image, however, featured a brand new navy bodysuit with chrome accents.
"Second round. New suit. More action. #aquaman Aloha j", Momoa wrote on Instagram alongside the two snapshots.
The Game of Thrones alum will be reprising his role as Arthur Curry/Aquaman in the upcoming sequel to the James Wan-directed box office hit, which is set to be released in 2022. Making a return is also Amber Heard, despite fans' pressure for her to be dropped from the project amid her legal battle against ex Johnny Depp.
In addition to Momoa and Heard, the cast also includes Patrick Wilson, Dolph Lundgren, and Yahya Abdul-Mateen II.
Since its premiere, Aquaman has grossed around $1.148 billion worldwide, thus becoming the highest-grossing DC Extended Universe film, the highest-grossing film based on a DC Comics character, the fifth-highest-grossing film of 2018 and 20th-highest-grossing film of all time.
But wait! Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom will not only feature a change in suit. Back in July, Momoa announced that he would be dying his hair blonde for the film.
"This is the last day of the brown. I'm gonna be a blonde", he said in an Instagram video before filming began in London. "They supposedly have more fun. I don't know about that, we'll test it out."
In case you missed it, Momoa recently explained why he doesn't want his kids to become actors!
