Issa Rae will be entering the Spider-Verse!
The 36-year-old actress, known for the acclaimed HBO series Insecure, has joined the voice cast of the upcoming Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse sequel.
In addition to Rae, the cast will also include Shameik Moore and Hailee Stanfield, who will be reprising their roles of Miles Morales/Spider-Man and Spider-Gwen respectively. Rae is set to voice Jessica Drew, aka Spider-Woman.
The star confirmed the news on Friday, posting the Hollywood Reporter article that first announced the news to her Instagram Stories and expressing her excitement for being a part of the forthcoming project.
"The way I have loved Spider-Man since the third grade. A dream come true", she wrote alongside the screenshot.
The sequel is scheduled to be released on Oct. 7, 2022.
Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse premiered in 2018 and won an Academy Award for best animated film.
