The album was originally set to be released in January.
Drake's highly-anticipated sixth studio album is here! The 34-year-old rapper dropped Certified Lover Boy on Friday, over a year after its original announcement. The album was initially slated for release earlier this year, but got pushed back several months.
"CLB FOR YOUR LISTENING PLEASURE EVERYWHERE @ 2AM EST", Drake wrote on Instagram alongside a hand-written copy of the 21-song tracklist, which features several star-studded collaborations.
Some of music's biggest names make appearances in the new album, including Travis Scott, Lil Wayne, Future, JAY-Z, Rick Ross, Ty Dolla $ign, Lil Baby, Kid Cudi, 21 Savage, Young Thug, and Project Pat. In addition, Certified Lover Boy features a spoken word cameo from Nicki Minaj on the track "Papi's Home."
The album was originally set to be dropped in January, but was delayed because Drake had been struggling with health issues at the time. Earlier this week, the musician finally announced a new release date, taking to Instagram to share the exciting news.
Drake dedicated Certified Lover Boy to late Nadia Ntuli and Mercedes Morr, fiends of the artist who passed away in tragic circumstances: Ntuli died in a motor vehicle accident earlier this year, while Morr was allegedly killed in a murder-suicide in August, according to Complex.
"A combination of toxic masculinity and acceptance of truth which is inevitably heartbreaking. Executive produced by me, Noah '40' Shebib, Oliver El-Khatib, and Noel Cadastre. Dedicated to Nadia Ntuli and Mercedes Morr. RIP ", the four-time Grammy winner told Apple Music of the album.
