Dove Cameron reveals the real reason the 'Powerpuff Girls' pilot is being reshot

The actress is set to play Bubbles in the upcoming series.

Dove Cameron is spilling the tea on the upcoming live-action adaptation of the Powerpuff Girls.

Back in May, CW Chairman and CEO Mark Pedowitz told TVLine that the pilot was being reshot due to it being deemed "too campy."

In a new interview with Entertainment Tonight, the 25-year-old actress denied the rumors that the CW series' pilot was being reshot because the script leaked, revealing the real reasons it had to be redone.

"They didn't decide to rework the pilot because the script leaked. I just need to say that that wasn't what happened. We had to reshoot it anyway for a couple of reasons", she said.

"It's a really big piece of IP, and it's tonally very specific. Like getting it right, making everybody happy, and also making sure that it translates. It's so specific", Cameron explained. "...So we're removing some elements and we're replacing others. I think the script is going to get another whack, and it's just going to be a slightly different approach but everything else is going to stay the same."

Cameron is set to play Bubbles in the forthcoming series, with Chloe Bennet as Blossom and Yana Perrault as Buttercup
