Gigi Hadid is keeping her distance. On Wednesday, the 26-year-old model —who's currently in Italy for Milan's Fashion Week— took to Twitter to warn her fans that, due strict protocols amid the pandemic, she'll need to focus on social distancing and urged them to do the same when taking pictures.
"To the beautiful fans- outside of shows, appointments, etc during the rest of fashion month, I need to stay socially distanced in respect of COVID workplace protocol & testing. For a pic, pls keep some space & I'll jump in the background of your selfie:) Thank u for understanding❤️", she tweeted.
Fashion Week returned earlier this month after a year and a half of COVID-related haults and restrictions, with Hadid helping launch the shows with her anticipated return to the runway at the Proenza Schouler show.
Hadid made her big comeback almost a year after giving birth to her daughter Khai, whom she shares with boyfriend Zayn Malik. During the show, she gracefully strutted along the runway in a printed maxi dress under a half-zip vest.
The model expressed her excitement ahead of the Proenza Schouler show, sharing on her Instagram account a snapshot of herself sitting in a window that overlooked the N.Y.C. street. "fashion month begins !", she captioned the photo.
Hadid welcomed Khai in September 2020, in a home birth at her mother Yolanda Hadid's house in Pennsylvania. At the time, she was surrounded by her loved ones: her dad Mohammed, Malik and her sister Bella.
"I knew it was going to be the craziest pain in my life, but you have to surrender to it and be like, 'This is what it is.' I love that', she told Vogue of the experience.
