The couple separated earlier this year after a 6-year marriage and a decade together.
Kanye West is using his art to take accountability for his past mistakes. In the song "Hurricane", featured on his new album Donda, the 44-year-old rapper seemingly admits that he cheated on his estranged wife Kim Kardashian after the birth of their first two children.
"Here I go actin' too rich / Here I go with a new chick / And I know what the truth is / Still playin' after two kids / It's a lot to digest when your life always movin'", he raps on the recently-released track.
During the song, West also mentions the mansion he once shared with the 40-year-old beauty mogul in California, which was featured in an issue of Architectural Digest back in 2020.
"Architectural Digest, but I needed home improvement / Sixty-million-dollar home, never went home to it", he says. "Genius gone clueless, it's a whole lot to risk."
According to what a source told People, the lyrics are "in a way [Kanye's] testimony of everything he did wrong and his apology and taking accountability."
"Hurricane" isn't the only song in West's tenth studio album that references his relationship with Kardashian, who filed for divorce in February after a six-year marriage and ten years together. During the second Donda listening party at the Mercedes-Benz stadium in Atlanta earlier this month, West debuted a song titled "Lord I Need You".
"Time and space is a luxury / But you came here to show that you're still in love with me", he raps in the track, seemingly referencing how Kardashian attended both listening events alongside the couple's four children.
