The 'Glee' actress passed away while renting a boat on Lake Piru with her 5-year-old son Josey, who was found alone in the boat.
We still remember Naya Rivera. The young actress passed away at 33 in a tragic boat accident in Lake Piru on July 8, 2020. Her father, George Rivera, recently recalled the last time he talked with his daughter. So heartbreaking!
George talked with People magazine about the last time he FaceTime Naya just before she got on the boat with her son Josey on the tragic day. Naya's dad explained that the actress called him for a bit of advice.
"She would always bounce stuff off me," he started. "And she wanted to go swimming with Josey out in the middle of the lake." But George realized that it wasn't a good idea as the boat didn't have an anchor.
"I could see that the wind was blowing and my stomach was just cringing. I kept telling her, 'Don't get out of the boat! Don't get out of the boat! It will drift away when you're in the water," George continued.
After a few seconds, the FaceTime call suddenly ended. "It was just heartbreaking. I had this bad feeling that was just killing me."
So sad! :(
