A remake of the 1992 romantic thriller was announced earlier this week.
Lizzo is ready to be the star in the newly-announced remake of The Bodyguard, the 1992 film starring Whitney Houston and Kevin Costner. And who does she want as her leading man? Chris Evans, of course!
On Wednesday, the 33-year-old posted a TikTok in which she shared a fan tweet about her and the Avengers star taking on the leading roles of R&B singer Rachel Marron and her bodyguard, Frank Farmer. "What y’all think? ", she captioned the video.
The upcoming film was first announced earlier this week, with several outlets reporting that Tony-nominated playwright Matthew López is on board to pen a reimagining of the beloved romantic thriller. Unfortunately, further details remain unclear.
Although no official cast has been announced yet, Lizzo and Evans' cheeky exchanges on social media could sure make for some amazing on-screen chemistry. Their flirty friendship started earlier this year, when the songstress revealed that she had drunkenly sent the Hollywood heartthrob a message on Instagram.
"Don’t drink and DM, kids.... for legal porpoises this is a joke", she wrote on TikTok as she showed the DM she had sent Evans, which featured gust of wind, a female basketball player, and a basketball emoji — which seemingly meant that Lizzo was shooting her shot with him.
Evans later responded and Lizzo shared his hilarious response in a second video. "No shame in a drunk DM. God knows I've done worse on this app lol", he wrote, referencing the time he accidentally posted a nude photo to his Instagram Stories last year.
