JoJo Siwa against Nickelodeon: she claims that they only treat her as "a brand"

JoJo Siwa seems pretty upset with the conditions of her upcoming tour

The 18-year-old artist, known for wearing big bows in her hair, took to Twitter on Tuesday, September 14, to express her frustration at JoJo Siwa D.R.E.A.M. Nickelodeon's The Tour, which had its dates rescheduled in light of the pandemic and begins on January 13, 2022.

This tour comprises his two recent EPs: D.R.E.A.M. The Music of 2018 and Celebrate of 2019.

"I'm going on tour in January," wrote the singer. "My musical movie has just been released (with 6 new original songs) ... Nickelodeon told me today that I cannot perform / add any of the songs from the movie to my show. These are MY songs, MY voice, MY writing. Is that fair to you? "

The Dancing With the Stars season 30 contestant later added:  "There is no reason this music should not be included. Working for a company as a real human being treated just like a brand is fun until it stops".

During a February conversation with Jimmy Fallon, JoJo talked about the tunes he had created for the project.

"I am very happy for the music it contains," she had shared. "I've done a lot of work on this soundtrack. There are six original songs".

This isn't the first time the Dance Moms star has expressed concern about her career moves. In June, she told Entertainment Weekly that she was trying to "pull" a scene from her next movie, Bounce, that shows her kissing a male character.

"I'm madly in love and I don't want to kiss another human, especially since he's a man," she said at the time. A few days later, she tweeted that she was happy to move on with the film, as Paramount "assured me that I don't have to do anything I don't want to do, ever."
