Rumors about Aniston dating her Friends co-star began circulating earlier this year.
Jennifer Aniston doesn't keep up with rumors about her personal life —not even those involving her Friends co-star, David Schwimmer. In a new interview with Marie Claire Australia, the 52-year-old actress recalled the moment she found out about rumors that she and Schwimmer were dating.
Calling fan speculation "really funny", Aniston said, "I was just saying, ‘I hadn’t heard a word of this.’ Honestly. I was getting a couple of texts from people saying, ‘I thought you were on a break, LOL.’ And I kept saying, ‘What are you talking about?’ And then I went online to see what was happening and I was like, ‘That is the funniest rumor that I never heard that got shot down in the quickest amount of time.’"
The Golden Globe winner previously revealed her reaction to the rumors while promoting the second season of her acclaimed series, The Morning Show, earlier this month.
"That was bizarre. I could not believe that, actually. Like, really? That's my brother", she told Entertainment Tonight. "But I understand it, though. It just shows you how hopeful people are for fantasies, for dreams to come true."
Rumors began circulating after the Friends reunion special aired in May, when Aniston and Schwimmer —who played onscreen couple Rachel and Ross on the sitcom— admitted that there was an offscreen crush between them.
"At some point, we were both crushing hard on each other", the 54-year-old actor said at the time. "But it was like two ships passing, because one of us was always in a relationship. And we never crossed that boundary. We respected that."
