The model married Justin Bieber in 2018.
Hailey Baldwin doesn't mind being recognized as the wife of Justin Bieber —but that doesn't mean she isn't her own person. The 24-year-old model made an appearance on the 4D with Demi Lovato podcast, where she revealed that it doesn't bother her when people call her "Justin's wife" because... Well, it's true.
"When you marry someone that is really well known, you also accept that a lot of the time people are going to be like, 'Oh yeah, that's blah, blah blah's wife.' It doesn't bother me", she told host Demi Lovato.
"At the end of the day, it doesn't bother me when somebody's like, 'Oh, you're Justin's wife.' I'm like, 'Yeah, I'm Justin's wife!' Because where is the lie?", added Baldwin, who tied the knot with the 27-year-old singer in 2018.
While Baldwin has no issue with the label, it does bother her when others suggest that being married to Bieber is the only reason why she's famous.
"It bothers me when people try to take it and flip it and be like, 'People wouldn't know who you were if you weren't his wife.' Because I disagree. I'm sorry, but I disagree ... I have all my own work relationships, I do my own thing, I have my own job, I have my own money", she said.
"When we split up and we didn't talk for a very long time, I feel like I worked very hard to continue establishing who Hailey was and I still work to establish that", she added.
Baldwin and Bieber briefly dated from December 2015 to January 2016, before reconciling in June 2018. They got engaged the following month and tied the knot that September at a New York courthouse. In 2019, the couple held a second wedding ceremony in front of family and friends.
