The rapper made derogatory comments against the LGBTQ+ community during a weekend festival set.
Dua Lipa is speaking out following DaBaby's derogatory remarks about the LGBTQ+ community and those living with HIV and AIDS during his performance at a festival over the weekend.
On Tuesday, the 25-year-old singer took to her Instagram Story to address the comments made by the 29-year-old rapper, with whom she collaborated on the hit track "Levitating".
"I'm surprised and horrified at DaBaby's comments", she wrote. "I really don't recognize this as the person I worked with."
"I know my fans know where my heart lies and that I stand 100% with the LGTBQ community", she added. "We need to come together to fight the stigma and ignorance around HIV/AIDS."
During his set at the Rolling Loud festival on Sunday, DaBaby went on a homophobic rant and made several ignorant comments about gay men living with HIV. He later continued spreading hate on Instagram Live, accusing those infected with the virus of being "stupid ass n----s" and calling HIV-positive folks "junkies on the street."
Following the backlash, DaBaby issued an apology on Twitter, writing: "Anybody who done ever been effected by AIDS/HIV y'all got the right to be upset, what I said was insensitive even though I have no intentions on offending anybody. So my apologies."
According to The Miami Herald, the hitmaker's comments also led to the cancellation of an upcoming performance at a venue in Miami Beach.
In case you missed it, this star also recently spoke out against homophobia.
