Teigen is undergoing surgery for Endometriosis.
On Thursday, the cookbook author and former model shared a clip through Instagram Stories of herself in a hospital bed as she awaits her surgery for Endometriosis. The condition is an "often painful disorder in which tissue similar to the tissue that normally lines the inside of your uterus — the endometrium — grows outside your uterus", according to Mayo Clinic.
Teigen also revealed on Wednesday that the planned surgery was taking place on the same week that her late son Jack was supposed to be born. "My little jack would have been born this week so I’m a bit off", she wrote on her Twitter account. "I truly feel kicks in my belly, but it’s not phantom". She continued, "I have surgery for endometriosis tomorrow … but the period feeling this month is exactly like baby kicks. Sigh".
The 35-year-old model suffered a miscarriage back in September when she was 20 weeks pregnant with her and husband John Legend's third child. In October, she wrote an essay on Medium reflecting on the heartbreaking experience and revealed that she had been diagnosed with partial placenta abruption.
The couple got matching tattoos of their late son's name in November. Tattoo artist Winter Stone shared the pictures of the pair's new ink that honored their child. "JACK @chrissyteigen @johnlegend My heart is with you, sending you all the love!", he wrote alongside photos of the thin written name on the couple's wrists.
